THE PLAYERS BIRDIES FOR CHARITIES
It is that time again for the 2008 PLAYERS Championship Birdies for Charity contest – The Monique Burr Foundation for Children is proud to be part of the contest once again this year. This unique, community-based, fundraiser is being held in conjunction with THE PLAYERS which brings the strongest field on the PGA TOUR to TPC Sawgrass, May 5-11, 2008.
Last year, 1370 birdies were made during tournament play. The Birdies for Charity contest operates like a walk-a-thon - participants will pledge a specific amount per birdie made during the competitive rounds of THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONAHIPA. Example: If you pledge $.05 per birdie and 1,000 birdies are made during the competitive rounds of THE PLAYERS, your pledge and commitment to the Monique Burr Foundation would be $50.
In addition to making a pledge, you will have an opportunity to guess the number of BIRDIES scored during the competitive rounds. The individuals making the correct guess or closest to the correct number of birdies will win the following:
GRAND PRIZE
A Couple’s Get-Away to Scottsdale including air, 3 nights at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, golf for two on the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course and the Champions Course, two hour lesson for two people at the TOUR Academy, couple’s 60 minute massage at the Willow Stream Spa, and dinner for two at one of the three award-winning restaurants.Second Place Prize
A two-day golf school at TOUR Academy, Sawgrass, two days of golf after instruction, two nights at the Sawgrass Marriott, lunch daily and comprehensive full-color student manual.Third Place Prize

The Monique Burr Foundation for Children is a local 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the prevention of sexual and physical abuse of children. Through your generosity and support of the Foundation, together we make a difference in the lives of countless children in our area. The statistics of child sexual abuse are staggering - one in four children will be sexually assaulted before 18 years of age. The sexual abuse prevention programs we teach and the programs we fund can and DO protect and empower these children, preventing such abuse.
