Every hour, 377 children are abused. The U.S. receives 3.2 million reports of abused or neglected children each year. Every day, 77 million children use the Internet and 1 out of 7 of those children ages 10-17 will be sexually solicited online. The estimated annual cost of child abuse and neglect in 2012 was $124 billion. Florida was ranked 4th in the nation for confirmed cases of maltreatment, including physical and sexual abuse, neglect and bullying in 2009.
